Buzz Women has been active in India since 2012. The team consists of at least 60 employees. With eight buses in their possession, they can reach hundreds of women in Karnataka, the province around Bangalore, on a daily basis. Buzz Women India is supported by renowned organisations like Citibank, Birla Group and Grameen Koota.
Buzz Gambia kickstarted in 2018, and Fatou Cham was responsible for the first ‘Buzz’ that hit the African continent. In 2019 thousands of Gambian women are being trained. Buzz Green has also piloted in Gambia, this is a program that connects leadership with concrete actions against climate change.
Last year Rianne Schuurman visited Buzz Women in The Gambia to introduce the Cooking Bag. Together with the Buzz Women team and online support from Cooking Bag expert Ellen Seldenthuis, they taught local women to produce and use the Cooking Bag. A green business led by local women in The Gambia was born.
Using the Cooking Bag saves time, is good for the environment and promotes healthy and safe food production and consumption.
Not only in The Gambia, but also in The Netherlands the Cooking Bags are now available for you to use at home. They are sustainably produced in Groningen, The Netherlands and benefit households the same way as they do in The Gambia.
